About Brian Turano

Brian Turano provides professional piano tuning, regulation, voicing, repair, and maintenance throughout Indianapolis and Central Indiana. From family uprights to concert grands, he brings extensive formal training and professional concert experience to every instrument.

Fascinated by pianos from an early age, Brian pursued piano technology after two years of music study. He graduated from both the Basic and Advanced Piano Technology programs at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, with training in tuning, regulation, voicing, repair, and rebuilding.

Following his training, Brian worked as a full-time concert technician at Steinway Hall Dallas/Fort Worth. He has also trained at the Steinway & Sons factory in New York.

Professional Concert Experience

Brian has worked as a concert piano technician at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, Purdue University, and Ball State University. He has also tuned for the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.

Brian serves as Head of Piano Technology at the Aspen Music Festival and School, overseeing the care and preparation of concert and teaching instruments during the summer festival season. He also regularly serves as a guest lecturer for the Oberlin Piano Technology Program.
